What a beautiful day it was!  I know it got a little chilly for Jaya as we were doing photos but I'm so glad she's a trooper and stuck it out those last few minutes.  She has such an amazing look to her combined with the beautiful venue that I just had to have it!!  Jaya went right down the street in Montgomery to Kotsova's to find that gorgeous gown she was wearing.  The florist was my good friend from Nina's Florist which I have to say are always elegant and classy.  I'm not sure if they can do anything but elegant and classy!!  I mean that as a compliment of course.  For the second time in three weeks I got to work with Jason with Hey Mr DJ.  Ironically I'm working with him again next weekend at the Oasis.  Anyone wondering if that's a coincidence?  Jason, I think you're stalking me.... I wouldn't mind if  you made a better looking woman!  The entire wedding ceremony and reception at the Manor House in Mason OH.  The Ceremony was in the Atrium with the reception and cocktail hour in the Magnolia room.  It was a pleasure to get to see the ladies from Mitchells in West Chester again as well as Steve Means who performed a beautiful and fitting wedding ceremony.  The guys looked really sharp in the brand new Charcoal Tuxes from Folchi's Formalwear.  The cake from Spoon Fulla Sugar.  Which I avoided before I have to add a new hole to my belt!!

Everybody should have family and friends like Eric and Jaya so they can have a wedding like this.  This is how it is supposed to be.  Congratulations to you and your families and thank you!

What can I say about Scott and Jen...?  I think the one thing that really stood out to me about the two of them is just the way they get each other.  I see a comfort level with who they are and appreciating everyone around them for who and what they are.  It's a rare and valuable trait they both have.  And it's part of what made this day so special.  Never once did I feel like I was anything but an old family friend.  I actually stayed an hour late just because I lost track of the time enjoying myself.  Now I have to give some credit to Jason from Hey Mr DJ for that.  He's not shy telling you that every wedding he dj/mc's is a PARTY!!  Based on my experience, I think he's right!  They also provided some lighting to add to the look of the room.  Just that extra touch of blue which was one of the wedding colors to add a little custom ambiance to the Marquise by McHales in Wilder Kentucky.  After giving Hey Mr DJ some credit there, I better give Inga from Affordable Wedding Creations some credit as well!  Everything from the boutonnieres and bouquets to the centerpieces and decor were just beautiful!

I've also been avoiding wedding cake for some time for the sake of avoiding my gradual development into santa claus.  However, I hadn't tasted cake from Cakes by Mindy outside of at bridal shows and decided it was time for me to break my streak.  I'm glad I did.  It was kinda fantastic!  I also wanted to mention the Limousine and driver from Limousine Express.  I tend to worry a little when I'm not with one of my usual transportation companies as seen some pretty shaky service.  This was not the case.  They were on time, clean limo, professional, easy to work with and friendly.

All and all, Scott and Jen had a pretty fantastic wedding.  Enjoy the photos and please click the "like" and "retweet" buttons below!!

Be sure to view the additional photos on facebook and feel free to tag/like or make comments on the photos.  I love reading them!  Enjoy your sneak peek!  The rest will be ready in 4-6 weeks though we're aiming for a little sooner!

I must first start off by thanking Kathy Piech-Lucas with Your Dream Day Wedding Planning.  Without her, I would have never had the pleasure of meeting Krishna and Lindsay.  And I think missing that opportunity would have been quite a disappointment.  In addition, I must compliment her on always assembling a team of vendors that work well together and make sure her clients are taken outstanding care of.

On saturday I had the privilege of working with Mary and the outstanding crew at the Savannah Center, Brandon with Hey Mr DJEntertainment, Marti Thompson Floral Designs, Brideface Make Up Artistry, Bob Mills Films, and Patricia's Wedding Cakes.  Does it really get any better than that?

The photos speak for themselves.  It was an interesting and entertaining evening.  Thanks for letting us be a part of it!

First of all, please share this with your friends and family and feel free to comment about any aspect of the day!  There are more photos on the facebook page.  Please tag yourselves and comment!

Well before I get to talking about the wonderful group of vendors I really want to talk about what really struck me about this wedding.  First of all, what a stunning group of people.  Starting with Laura who was breathtaking.  Not only is she striking to look at, but she's just as sweet of a person.  Laura's sisters and mom as well as Zach's sister, the bridesmaids and the guests as well.  On top of that, there were two fine looking bald men for best men!  So they had to be smokin!  It was a beautiful group of people and each one of them sweeter than the last.  It was truly a pleasure to be there.  The second thing that really struck me was the best man speech with a touching tribute to two amazing woman who I did not get the pleasure of meeting but I'm sure everyone knows were there in spirit.  Third, was a song Laura's father wrote for her, Zach and their adorable son Camden.  Well done dad!

We started at 20th Century Theater for some getting ready photos where Laura and her sister Rachel touched up her hair and make up that they did at Benzie Salon where they both work!  From there we went to Riverside Dr in Covington KY for their Wedding Photos.  The guys were decked out by the fine people at Folchis Formalwear and the florist was Jennie Hedges who did an amazing job on the bouquets.  At St. Anthony's for the wedding ceremony I caught up with Bret Sears and his crew of videographers who were amazingly invisible all night!  Since Laura and Zach had done all their photos prior to the ceremony, we walked out of the church and went straight to 20th century for the reception.  There, Zach from Hey Mr DJ greeted me at the door with the order of events and instructions for the night as I've come to expect from the always prepared crew from Hey Mr DJ. It's always nice working with a quality dj/mc so I don't feel like I have to run the reception!  Good seeing you again Zach.  We'll have to catch up again soon!  The last piece of the puzzle was the cake from Jerry's Cheesecakes which I heard was amazing!!

So, that's all I have for today.  Thanks for taking the time and please share this on your facebook or twitter or whatever you like!!

Cincinnati Wedding Photography, Greg and Jessica 7-9-11

Cincinnati Senior Wedding Photographers Daniel Michael and Amanda Evans Photograph Greg and Jessica.... FINALLY!  It seems like it's been years since the first time I met Greg and Jessica, Oh, wait, that's because it has been!  They came in about two years prior to their wedding!  And it's a good thing too!  I knew immediately when talking with Jessica that she would be a great addition to the team at Images by Daniel Michael Photography.  Turns out that in those two years Jessica had such an impact on our studio that she worked enough to pay for her photography as well as several of her other vendors!  I always felt like this day was so far off and all of a sudden it was this weekend.  Over the last two years I've gotten to know Jessica quite well and Greg a little too.  I can't put into words how happy I am that they found each other.  They are a perfect balance and I wish nothing but wonderful memories and a long and happy life together.

It was also great to see quite a few of our previous couples and I'm pretty sure a few of our future couples as well!  I ran into Jeff and Julie's cousin from 4-2-11 at the Cincinnati Zoo which I photographed as well as Jessica and Greg's cousin and her fiance who were also at that event because Jen works for the Zoo.  Jen and Chad who Amanda photographed 7-31-10, Shannon and Adam who Susan photographed 8-21-10 and the couple that got it all started Amy and Darren who our other Jessica photographed on 5-16-08.  I have one photo of groomsmen in the entire studio and it is of them.  In that photo Greg is a groomsmen and appears to have no legs below his knees!  We corrected that this time!  Thank you to Amy and Darren for choosing us.  Without you, none of this would have been possible and I would have missed out on not only a beautiful night but on some truly beautiful people.

Ok, enough of the sappy stuff!  Time to let you know who the vendors were!  The outdoor Wedding Ceremony was held in the gazebo at Manor House in Mason Ohio with the Reception immediately following in the Crystal Room.  The Wedding Flowers were provided by Mike and the wonderful people at Nina's Florist.  Jessica's hair was done by her good friend Jen and her wedding day Make Up was done by Nancy from Bridaface (AMAZING!).  The Wedding Video was done by Chris Knight who was a pleasure to work with.  No surprise the guys looked sharp since their tuxes were from the fantastic Peppe Ramundo and Carmen Ramundo.  Jessica's friend Julie helped plan and organize the wedding day and their friend and former teacher was the Wedding Officiant, Kevin Ritter.  Patricia's made the beautiful and delicious Wedding Cake.  And last but not least were the Wedding DJ Kyle and MC Jason from Hey Mr DJ.  I know without any doubt that Jessica would tell you that having Jason as the MC at their wedding completely changed and enhanced the personal aspect of their wedding as well as making for one hell of a party!  I look forward to every opportunity to work with Jason and the guys at Hey Mr DJ because of their incredible preparation and personalization of each wedding. For example (I hope I'm not giving away any secrets here!), but during their first dance, Jason had recorded the vows that Jessica and Greg wrote and incorporated them throughout their first dance song for everyone to hear again.  I want to thank all the vendors for not just doing a great job but for taking such good care of my friends.  I couldn't have worked with a better crew today and I'm not sure any of you truly know how much Jessica and Greg appreciate you.  Ok, time for me to shut up!  I couldn't stop selecting photos so there are about 100 on the Facebook Page as well.

Cincinnati Wedding Photography, Latonia and Curtis, May 27, 2011

By: Cincinnati Wedding Photographers, Daniel Michael, Emily Naehring

May 28, 2011

The Senior Photographers at this wedding were Daniel Michael and Emily Naehring.  All Portraits are courtesy of Images by Daniel Michael.

The Ceremony Destination and Reception Location were both at Elements Conference and Event Center while the portraits were taken at Sharon Woods.  My hats off to Nidhi, Vikas, Varun, Mario and the entire staff at Elements.  The day couldn't have been more smooth and Latonia and Curtis couldn't have been happier.  Their Wedding DJ was the always entertaining, smooth talking, master MC Jason from Hey Mr DJ.  The tasty Wedding Cake was prepared by an all time favorite, Patricias.  The beautiful flowers were provided by Cincinnati Florist the Silk Canopy.  Latonia has an allergy to flowers and you would never know the flowers were silk unless you touched them!  Her Make Up was done by the amazingly talented Tamra Berry while her hair was done by Nadi Hair Spa.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a more emotional bride after her wedding than Latonia.  Her and Curtis are meant to be together and after 9 years....IT'S ABOUT TIME!

Choosing a DJ

By: Brandon with Hey Mr DJ

January 18, 2011

This is the time of year I like to help our couples with their wedding planning.  I've asked several vendors to help us by sending in some thoughts on what is important in their speciffic field.  So, for our first I've asked for one of the key aspects of your wedding reception, your dj.  So without further stalling on my part, here is Brandon with Hey Mr DJ:

I'm honored that Daniel asked me to write a guest blog for him today. I love working with Dan and his people. They keep the mood light, they work quickly and they are always a pleasure to be around.

What I want to ask all of you visiting Daniel’s blog today is, “What “moments” do you have planned for your wedding day?”

Think back to all the weddings and reception you have attended in the past. What about those weddings and receptions do you remember?

Prior to becoming a DJ I attended and was in several of my friends weddings. From all of those weddings, I’m sad to say, I remember very little. It’s not that I have a bad memory. In fact, my friends are always amazed at the moments I can recall from our past. It’s just that those weddings and receptions had very few “moments”.

When you move people emotionally they will remember it. Wedding magazines will tell you what colors are in, what flowers work in what season and how to make your wedding day beautiful. None of them will tell you how to create “moments”. This is where your wedding entertainer comes in. If you have a good one, it can make all the difference in how your guests feel about the events of your wedding day.

While I can’t recall much of my friend’s weddings, I can recall many moments over the years I helped create for my clients. I can recall a groom who took the microphone just after the father daughter dance and began to talk about his mother. All the while making his way across the room to her, he finally stopped at her table and said “Mom I love you, can I have this dance.” I recall a groom whose brother was deployed to Iraq just a couple of months before the wedding. You should have felt the moment in that room as we heard a toast from that same brother. A toast I had secretly recorded months earlier when we found out he was being deployed.

I recall a night where at the end of the reception we played Billy Joel’s Piano Man. As everyone with their arms around one another sang at the top of their lungs the bride and groom stepped into the middle of the circle where they danced and smiled and hugged their guests. You could just feel the love in the air and nobody wanted to leave. Imagine a bride returning from fixing her dress in a separate room during her reception and finding all of her guests gathered around the dance floor and her groom sitting at the top of that dance floor holding his acoustic guitar and waiting for her. I remember her smile as he sang to her a song he had written for her after their first date. I remember the laugh we got when we introduced a wedding party into the reception with funny stories about each of them and then the smiles as we introduced the newlyweds with the story of how they met, of their first date and of their proposal. I remember these moments not just because they were my ideas or that I helped orchestrate them I remember them because they moved me and everyone in the room.

Most of the guests at the weddings I mentioned above probably couldn’t tell you if the food was good, if the couple arrived in a limousine or if there was a chocolate fountain but I promise you they remember these moments.

Most couples begin searching for DJs with the idea that all we provide is music. What some of us provide beyond the music is the ideas, knowledge, timing, and creativity it takes to help you create “moments”.
