Wedding Photographer Amber Yearms
When I am not photographing weddings, I'm likely hanging out with my husband and our dog Riley, taking hikes and loving life! I’ve always been drawn to all kinds of art but especially photography. My grandfather was a photographer and I'll always remember him taking photos of the fireworks. Before I took up photography, I spent some time on the other side of the camera modeling. For a while I even taught modeling and acting. Having been in front of the camera since I was a kid, I really hadn’t thought about being behind it. I loved photos but never knew I had a talent for it. That changed when I was meeting with Daniel for my own wedding. I remember like it was yesterday and still sometimes feels like yesterday! He asked me what I liked about the photos I had seen on the website and in the studio. I said I loved the way the emotions were captured and how it didn’t feel like posing. It felt so in the moment. After we talked more about how I felt about the photos, he said "why don’t you work for the studio?” And the rest is history.
I have loved weddings ever since I was a little girl when I would see my grandma do wedding dress alterations. I saw so many different styles of dresses and loved everything about them! As I grew older, that love only grew as I appreciated more than just the dresses! The artist in me loves the variety. Every wedding is unique personally and artistically. Seeing the love, excitement, emotions, and the happy tears are what drives my love for weddings now. Still, I love that moment each day when I get to see the dress for the first time. Knowing that I was able to capture these special moments for each couple to savor for a lifetime is one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had.
What I love about our studio are the people. Everyone is so supportive and helpful but more importantly they are good people that I count as my friends. Becoming a wedding photographer is not something I ever even dreamed of and I couldn’t have done it without the support of all my friends at the studio. I will always remember how I was taken care of on my wedding day and want to pass that same feeling on to you.
