I grew up in the heart of bourbon country in Kentucky before moving to the Cincinnati area with my wife, Megan. I have always loved photography from the moment I opened that Christmas present as a young child to reveal my first camera (a Polaroid). I began photographing anything I could find. I especially loved going on family vacations and trying to figure out how to properly allocate the limited number of photos I could take without running out of film but still capturing all the important moments and sights. One could even say photography runs in my blood as my father has been a photographer for years. In fact, one of my favorite memories with him was in 2017 when we had the total solar eclipse. Dad and I drove several hours to a farm so that we could witness and photograph the event together. This led to my love of nature and wildlife photography where I wanted to capture fleeting moments in nature and share them with everyone. In fact, that same desire is what ultimately led me to wedding photography.
I love capturing and sharing beautiful images of timeless moments so years later you can look back and be in that moment again. This is part of why I love what I do at Images by Daniel Michael. Having the second photographer dedicated specifically to those candid moments is what wedding photography is all about.
In addition to photography, I love traveling (Disney World, the rest of Florida and Great Smoky Mountains National Park are regular destinations for me), sports (I’m a HUGE University of Kentucky fan), hiking, finding dark spots to see the stars better, birdwatching/participating in yearly bird counts (where I once rescued a bald eagle!) and just being in nature in whatever capacity I can. I’m also a huge animal lover of all kinds (except snakes, they’re too slithery).
If someone were to describe my personality, they would mention my sense of humor and love of laughter (both my own and everyone else’s around me). I put everyone at ease with my easy-going nature and ability to carry on a conversation with anyone. I care deeply that my photography is the best it can be. For my clients, this means I go above and beyond to ensure that you get the shots you deserve so you can look at the pictures many years from now and be transformed back to that wonderful day.
