Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  If my event lasts longer than expected, will you stay? Is there an additional charge?

A:  We will stay until we have completely captured your day.  We do not charge to stay late as long as it is within reason.

Q:  Is there a limit to the number of photos taken?  Do we receive all the photos?  Are they high resolution, color corrected and without watermarks?

A:  No limit.  You receive all the images except for the duplicates and misfires. Full Resolution, Edited and Ready to Print with no Watermarks.  Everything is ready to print from your flash drive.

Q:  What type of album designs do you offer? Do you provide any assistance in creating an album?

A:  Our albums are completely customized.  You have complete control and can choose your photos.  However, we will also guide you through the process.

Q:  How long after the wedding will I get the proofs? Will they be viewable online?

A:  Typically you will have your photos completed within 4 weeks +/- 1 week at which time they will be available online. All photos can be downloaded at a high resolution download.

Q:  How long after I order my photos/album will I get them?

A:  Reprints take approximately 3-7 days when ordered directly from Robin Imaging.  If ordered online, it is typically 2-4 weeks.  Albums take 4-6 weeks to design depending largely on you.  Printing typically takes 4-6 weeks except around Christmas where we have to be a little more ahead of the game.

Q:  Is sales tax included in the price.

A:  No. Though many vendors do include the tax it is not legal to do so.  According to Ohio state sales tax law, photography is considered a product and not a service and is subject to sales tax on 100% of the package amount.  That means the amount on the contract is the amount that is to be taxed.  It requires a special permit to include sales tax.  This permit is intended for businesses like street vendors and similar businesses.  The only way around Ohio sales tax is to ship the product out of state and report the tax in the state it was delivered to on your own when you do your taxes.

General

Q:  How long have you been in business?

A:  We’ve been photographing weddings professionally since 1999.

Q:  Can I give you a list of specific shots we would like?

A:  Yes, though we will meet with you prior to your wedding to make sure we fully understand your family dynamics and customize your family photo list for you.  Our list will always include parents, siblings and their families, grandparents, each wedding party member and these groups collectively.  So the need for a list is minimal.  Additional suggestions for poses or styles are also welcome.

Q:  Will you recreate some photos from social media?

A:  Not only are we willing to do this, we encourage you to create a folder with photos you like.  We don't encourage you to duplicate every one but it helps us to understand your style.  After all, wedding photography is about showcasing your style more so than ours.

Q:  Can we meet our photographer?

A:   Yes, you can arrange a meet and greet prior to hiring any master/senior photographer or at anytime leading up to your wedding.  Our master/senior photographers also photograph most of their own engagement sessions.  All of our photographers are present for their final meeting to go over details for your wedding.

Q:  Is there a limit to the number of photos taken?  Do we receive all the photos?  Are they high resolution, color corrected and without watermarks?

A:  No limit.  You receive all the images except for the duplicates and misfires which typically account for about 10%-20% of the images. High Resolution, Color Corrected and free of Watermarks.  Everything is ready to print from your flash drive.

Q:  How long after the wedding will I get the proofs? Will they be viewable online?

A:  Typically you will have your photos completed within 3-5 weeks at which time they will be available on an online gallery. You are able to download your images as a high resolution download.

Q:  What is your refund/cancellation policy if need to change or cancel my date?

A:  Deposits are non refundable but can be used as a credit toward future events or photo sessions.

Background

Q: How long have you been in business?

A: We’ve been photographing weddings professionally since 1999.

Q: How many weddings have you photographed? Have you done many that were similar to mine in size and style?

A: Over 1900 through 2017.  We photograph all size, style and types of weddings.

Q: How would you describe your photography style?

A: In one word, Personalized.  To be more descriptive, a blend of styles including: Photojournalistic, Candid, Traditional, Contemporary, Emotional, Classic and Timeless.  The idea is not to capture our style but to showcase yours.

Q: How would you describe your working style?

A: When we are taking portraits our teams should take control and orchestrate your day.  When we are at the Ceremony or Reception we should barely be noticed if at all.

Q: What type of equipment do you use?

A: We use nothing but up to date professional grade cameras and the top grade lenses designed for professional use by Nikon, Cannon or Sony.  We update our cameras every 3-5 years or as technology breakthrough's dictate.  We tend not to use brand new cameras till the bugs are worked out and firmware updates are released.

Q: Do you shoot in RAW format or JPEG?

A: All photos are captured in RAW format to allow for the best possible editing and are converted to JPEG afterward for ease of use for you.

Q: Can I give you a list of specific shots we would like?

A: Yes, though we will meet with you prior to your wedding to make sure we fully understand your family dynamics and customize your family photo list for you.  Additional suggestions for poses or styles are also welcome.

Q: Have you ever worked with my florist? DJ? Coordinator, etc?

A: Chances are we have.  However, if we have not, we will always respect that they are there with the same goal as us, to make your wedding the perfect day you dreamed it would be.  We will work together however we can to make this come true.

Q: May I have a list of references?

A: Of course we can.  However, this is a bit of an outdated request with all of the available online reviews such as The Knot, Wedding Wire,  and Google. Any photographer's list of references will surely include nothing but extremely satisfied couples.  At least with online reviews they have much less control over it.

The Shoot

Q:  Who chooses which photographer who will photograph my wedding? Do you have a second photographer or assistant? Can I meet them before my wedding?

A:  You can choose any of our available master/senior photographers and I prefer you meet with them at least twice prior to your wedding (Engagement session and Final Consultation).

Q:  Do you have backup equipment? What about a backup plan if you (or my scheduled photographer) are unable to shoot my wedding for some reason?

A:  Every team carries at least 3 cameras if not 4 or more as well as multiple lenses and speed lights.  We schedule extra people on every busy weekend to make sure we have someone on standby at all times.  Our computers back up nightly as well.

Q:  How will you (and your assistants) be dressed?

A:  The idea is to blend in, not to stand out.  Typically the minimum is black dress pants, black or dark colored dress shirt or appropriate blouse.

Q:  Is it okay if other people take photos while you’re taking photos?

A:  Yes, as long as it is not hampering our ability to move quickly disrupting the flow of the day.

Contracts and Policies

Q:  How much of a deposit do you require and when is it due? Do you offer a payment plan?

A:  We are always flexible to make a payment plan.  If not, out standard payments are three payments (30%deposit, 50% week of wedding, 20% photo pick up).

Q:  What is your refund/cancellation policy if need to change or cancel my date?

A:  Deposits are non refundable but can be used as a credit toward future events or sessions.

Q:  Do you have liability insurance?

A:  Yes.
